If you do not add the UserAccount component to your sysprep/autounattend.xml file, you will be prompted to add a user during the installation (The Vista install will stop and ask you to add a user). This is specificly on Vista systems using an OEM build of the OS with no Activation required.Īny usefull information on this would be great.Ĭreating a user account is mandatory in Vista setup, whether you do it interactively or use an unattended setup. The only thing I am trying to accomplish is to change the SID.

I am using Ghost Solution Suite 2.0 so the ghost file itself is no problem but I need to change the SID so it is unique. I run from the command line "sysprep /unattend:unattend.xml with the unattend.xml containing I have tried putting it in the Sysprep folder on the master I am setting up to capture an image from but the sysprep utility always tells me that it can't find a file with the name I specify. I have read through 10's of postings but have not found anywhere that says specifically where to put the Unattend.xml file.

I am trying to get sysprep to run an unattended installation for the purpose of preping a Ghost image.
